I’m working on a Music Search Engine based on Google Custom Search technology. M.usik.us is a niche specific music search. If you do search in m.usik.us, then you won’t find major music site in the search result. This is because smaller and niche music site is often underestimated and there’s no way you can find these sites in the top results of major search engines.

Back in January, I started a project with two of my friends, Dethu & Igo. This project is probably the biggest music project i’ve ever done. Together we found a Music Directory and Marketplace for Indonesian Musicians. My main role is as webmaster, but also manage to be involved on editorial duties and business management.

So in the time being, I’m building this website. Musikator Dot Com.

I didn’t win so i didn’t go to England to celebrate Creative Industry with inudstry pundits and worldwide finalists. I was distinguished in national level. But it was a bloody great experienced. The competition has opened my eyes that massive opportunities are out there. I just need to go out from home and grab as many as i can. As long as i can afford to work it out.

Soda Music also has its Records division and had re-released Puppen MK II in 2004. Other release was The Bahamas Why Not Ep which i don’t think i scanned the album cover to put it here (damn).

After my withdrawal from Volcom Indonesia, i head back to Bandung to finish my study. Soon after claiming my bachelor degree, i took my business graduate school. As the schedule wasn’t very tight, i took a weekend school, i manage my time to form and run my own music business company name Soda Music.

I found the company with 2 my other friends name Tommy Prahara and Chaerul. We started out as music/artist management as we help our friend Burgerkill band to sign with Sony Music. Then the rest was legendary.

Below was our company logo which was where we started it all, then it was all grow from there.

Puppen – 4 Dischord Live Recording Harvest

I dare to say this was a breakthrough in Indonesia music scene. Along with my friends in Spills, Riotic and Bintang 41, we initiate to hold a first Live Recording album in Indonesia’s underground music history. The event was a success, we got quite good coverage out off it, but the cassette sales wasn’t that good because it’s lack of distribution and promotions. This event was held in November 2001. Puppen played their last show on earth in Cafe Nirvana Jakarta and Dago Tea House Hall Bandung. Both shows attracted thousands of fans from all over Indonesia. It was nice to see the band gets respect after 10+ years in the underground music scene.

After Puppen signed endorsement contract with Volcom, there come the trend that other clothing companies were supporting bands. National magazines also smell this trend among underground bands and started to cover that made it ‘big’ in Indonesia music scene, although not many of them still doing this these days. Of course, me too don’t work brother!

Puppen – Abstain & Tanpa Dasar Single

The following were 2 singles we involved in local music scene which was released around the year of 2000.
1. Abstain at Brain Beverages compilation. This release was initiated by hardcore community in Bandung, Harder Records.

2. Tanpa Dasar at Ticket to Ride. This release was initiated to support a skatepark in Bandung by skate/surf community and released under Spills Records.
