Soda Music also has its Records division and had re-released Puppen MK II in 2004. Other release was The Bahamas Why Not Ep which i don’t think i scanned the album cover to put it here (damn).

I dare to say this was a breakthrough in Indonesia music scene. Along with my friends in Spills, Riotic and Bintang 41, we initiate to hold a first Live Recording album in Indonesia’s underground music history. The event was a success, we got quite good coverage out off it, but the cassette sales wasn’t that good because it’s lack of distribution and promotions. This event was held in November 2001. Below some documentations.

Puppen played their last show on earth in Cafe Nirvana Jakarta and Dago Tea House Hall Bandung. Both shows attracted thousands of fans from all over Indonesia. It was nice to see the band gets respect after 10+ years in the underground music scene.

After Puppen signed endorsement contract with Volcom, there come the trend that other clothing companies were supporting bands. National magazines also smell this trend among underground bands and started to cover that made it ‘big’ in Indonesia music scene, although not many of them still doing this these days. Of course, me too don’t work brother!

Puppen – Abstain & Tanpa Dasar Single

The following were 2 singles we involved in local music scene which was released around the year of 2000.
1. Abstain at Brain Beverages compilation. This release was initiated by hardcore community in Bandung, Harder Records.

2. Tanpa Dasar at Ticket to Ride. This release was initiated to support a skatepark in Bandung by skate/surf community and released under Spills Records.

Puppen Release Party

With the help of our friend Ambar, we finally held a album release party. It was held at Lamborghini Cafe – Jakarta (R.I.P.). Crowds nuts, the bands went out of mind. It was very much fun. Other acts was Koil and local band Papi.

My role in this project was as band manager and co-producer.

Endorsement Deal – Volcom

In the year 2000, soon after we release Puppen self title, we signed an endorsement deal with clothing company, Volcom. At that time, my role was also as band manager.

The company have been very supportive to the band.

This was our last release. It was a mini album that combines with old songs remix version done by our friend Otong from Koil.

My main duty in this album was music producer and lead guitarist. The remix songs produced by Otong.

Soon after this album released, Puppen reached it’s peak. We were invited to do gigs in almost every city in Java island. We were again perhaps the busiest underground in Indonesia during the year 2000 – 2001. Gigs, interviews, magazine interview etc etc.

This was our first and last involvement with major release. It was a various artist release that combine the finest bands in independent scene with major acts. Initiated by our supporter Mr. Seno Adjie from Target Pro. Original released in 1999.
